How's everyone, waiting for dry weather the the fun begins!!!! Well I'm getting ready and the losi 5t 2.0 is in need of a rebuilding. Looking to replace cutch/bell and spur and pinion. Engine is stock g32 with bartalone pipe. Way too many options out there so this old fart a bit confused. Just wanting a stock type setup. I belive l went up 1 tooth on pinion because a rock took out the original. Truck is fast on top end and no bottom end issues. I think the stock setup is 20/62 but not seeing this setup as available from any supplier. Would like to get from Detroit rc or DDM (low to no stock.DDM.). Just looking for basic no issue bolt on ...... Nothing is broken, just 5 years of wear that needs attention. Thank you much very any suggestions, they are appreciated!!!!

I needed a new clutch bell for a project and i went with Vertigo. I'm running a 19tooth pinion and stock 5t spur and clutch. I was looking for more short bursts than overall top speed. I figured with the Vertigo i could swap around diffrent size pinions and play with the gear ratio. Only real complaint is the availability of them. Alot of places seem to be out of stock. I originally ordered from Detroit Performance and have been on there waiting list for a 20 and 21 tooth for a while now. I looked directly at Vertigo Performance website and they seem to have it , i just haven't ordered from them.

Hey Mick, I'm not and expert by any means however for a stock clutch setup you might go with a standard Zenoah 8k to start. You can always swap out the spring if you want a more delayed (higher rpm response). Really depends on if racing on a track, short, long, technical..... or just ripping around. As for a clutch bell/pinions/spurs, 'm sure there are many other options however the Vertigo Vented Hex bell are pretty nice. I installed the Vertigo hex bell (link at the bottom) however you need to run only their proprietary pinion gears. DDM has most of what you may want as well as Detroit Perf.
The Black Bone clutch bells offered on Detroit's sight are also proprietary and you would need to run their pinion gears as well.
Just make sure you order 54mm clutch's and bell...
Bartolone racing makes a nice bell as well.

Agreed, chasing the right gears seems to be the hang up...

Awesome response, thank you guys, . Yea going to talk to detroit about ratio to get close to stock . I counted my pinion and it's 21 teeth with stock losi spur. I think you just add up to count then get as close as you can with new gears.

I used the FS brand version of these and put a different spring so it's engagement was around 6900 rpm. They wear very well.

Thank you all for your time, much appreciated!!
You are welcome bud. In the past, playing in the sand dunes with my hpi baja 5b, I ate up a stock clutch in a few tanks. I've not ran a stocker since. I swapped an elcon adjustable clutch in that but the basic FS or black bone metal shoes work excellent.

Detroit was good about a same day response. Ended up with blackbone clutch bell,21 tooth pinion and fs 8750 rpm clutch. Horizon Hobby only place with a 62 tooth spur... losi stock part....expensive, 104 bucks with shipping. Apparently you need to add spur and pinion to determine total count , 83 in my case . So if dealing with the vertigo etc. , the closest I could have would be in the high 70s. I think you're total combination of engine, desired performance, pipe, etc. all needed to figure this stuff out. I would recommend talking with the company you bought engine from for recommendations. With the losi being stock engine and performance satisfactory for me ,l figure staying with same tooth combination was way to go. Detroit states that the losi is kind of unique in the ability to use different combinations to get same overall numbers. Any further feedback is more than welcome, seems that this is a great subject for discussion and support. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!! Almost forgot, l do run Fonzie engine spacers set , got new ones because mine are hammered.....highly recommended.

Dumb question, why would you be only in high 70's with Vertigo? Is that because of availability?

Hey Mick, did you order some engine/mesh spacers? They are the oval shaped aluminum washers on the bottom of your chassis for the engine bolts. Not sure if you remembered this considering you are changing from the stock gearing but there is a formula for what spacer size is needed based on your Spur and pinion sizes (total tooth count, I believe...) to achieve the correct mesh. Or you can order some round ones from Detroit Perf and dial it in on your own. Just making sure you considered this during your swap out. Another member could probably better explain the formula if going with the oval spacers. Good luck!

Yes, fonzie mounts, love them, Vetigos gears seem to be low on stock so all l could find only added up to 70s . I'm a set mesh by ear and feel kind of guy.... just a tick in several spots!!!! Also the websites don't seem updated or something because depending on how you search for parts they might show out of stock.....suggest sending a message or call
