Could someone measure the stinger OD on XB pipe?

I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm going to be ordering a clamp on silencer for my XB which wont be here till next week. Likely I'll be out of town next week and wont be able to measure it myself until I get back.


Could someone measure the outer diameter of the pipe stinger for me please?

Do you have the stock pipe? - the one that came with the car? The outer diameter is about 16mm. - the stock pipe has a inner cone built in, not shure of its purpose, sound?

Yes its the stock pipe. If its cored then its probably a baffle to cut down on the noise. Either way, if my neighbors can still hear the exhaust, its still too loud. Its tough having 3 acres and not really being able to do anything with it.
 
You may have clearance issues because of the shock tower. What could be done- Go to a hobby shop and buy a silicone exhaust extension with a angle. Airplane guys use these to keep the oil off the wings. Point it to the ground. This will slow the car down- but its gonna be as- if not more quiet than a spendy muffler. There is a saying- good fences make good neighbors. They complain and you have 3 achres? - how do you mow the lawn- use the weedeater?- Use the Internet- and sell it to a group of bikers fron hell, the ones that party all night long- reve Harleys at 2 am, have foul mouthed bar fly women --- ect.ect !!! -- just a thought.
 
I cut the grass with the usual power equiptment. Its different when the noise has a purpose other than for personal enjoyment. On weekends my town as a noise ordinance, its something like 60db at the property line. The people who wrote the law probably had no idea how loud 60db was let alone what a db is.

I'm just trying to be courteous to my neighbors, its not going to stop me from driving the XB on my property
 
I bought a couple feet of high temp rubber hose. I'm sure I'll be able to rig something up.
