I just ordered my first 1/5 scale buggy, a Rofun BAHA450, and am wondering about the diffs. With my 1/10 nitro trucks I've upgraded to ball/limited slip diffs; is there a 1/5 counterpart? I've seen lots of alloy replacement diffs advertised, but none specified as ball or limited slip. Based on the Rovan parts diagrams, they have typical planetary gears; a 2wd would be much nicer than a 1wd.

You can probably tune the diff with various "weight" silicone oils. You can go as high as 20 million. I haven't seen a ball diff in a large scale. I don't think they would be reliable in something that heavy and powerful

That is a nice unit. Thank you for that information. Its basically a mini Torsen differential. Very cool.

I would just go with heavy oil in the diff , I run mine with a Taylor 35 reed case and fully upgraded everything , And never had a problem with the gear diff.
I did fit blackbone gears for strength , But handling problems . none !.
