Do I need a new Trans or just a Diff? Baja 5B

I was out driving my buggy when all of a sudden it rolled to a stop even though I was giving it throttle. Even at near full throttle it doesn’t move. The wheels spin freely and when I hit the throttle both gears (the smaller metal one on the clutch and the plastic black one) spin. I do find it weird that I can spin the plastic gear by hand without the wheels moving. my First thought was something came loose in the clutch but tore that apart and everything was fine. I’m thinking it’s diff related but my question is do I need a whole new transmission assembly or do I just buy a new diff?

Need to take it apart and see whats broken.

Make sure all your throttle linkage is tight. Otherwise your going to need to take the transmission apart and see if you find anything as Sean said.
