What are the differences between the dune runner and the rampage XB?


I am thinking about buying the dune runner, but they look real similar and the XB is a little less expensive?

They are two completely different platforms.

The Dune Runner is much larger, a little heavier and more durable out of the box.

The XB being lighter will be a little quicker and more nimble around the corners. It will require some upgrades out of the box to make it as durable as the Dune Runner. With some upgrades the XB is an awesome platform.

What would the suggested mods be for the XB?

Is either one or the other more compatible or interchangeable with the MT platform?

I will have to check the rampage website for dimensions and such.

Is the dune runner a newer vehicle?

So the dunerunner may be a more robust platform out of the box but slower and less nimble than the XB?

Out of the box I would install:

New servos (this goes for all platforms)

Kill switch (this goes for all platforms)

7075RC bearing carriers with new wheel bearings.

7075 gear plate.

The Dune Runner is closer in design to the MT. They share most of their suspension components.
 
So the XB is a newer platform and migh tbe more fun because it is lighter weight and faster?
 
I wouldn't say more fun. Each vehicle has its own advantages and disadvantages. It just kinda what you want to do with it. The XB might be a tad bit quicker but not faster top end. I would just get what intrigues you. After all its all about the fun factor with these things. :)
