I`m about to change my wheel bearing on my FG MT. How do I get the old ones out and the new ones in? I saw that you could buy a special tool for this but I figured that this could be done without this tool aswell. Or do I need the tool?

If you are removing them from plastic you can just use a large screw driver and push on the center ring of the bearing and they will pop out. Make sure not to hit the ring or you may dent it. If your removing them from aluminum you need to heat up the outer ring of aluminum piece enough to expand it slightly and tap them out the same way. Once one side is out you can use a small screwdriver and put the driver through the bearing hole and use the small handle to push the other out. To put the new ones in its a good idea to lightly heat it up, set it on a wood bench or block and use a piece of wood or rubber hammer to lightly tap the bearing into the aluminum piece. If the bearing is loose in the aluminum piece without heating them and it is easy to push them in or lightly tap it in with a rubber hammer, then use a bit of blue locktight around the outside of the bearing so they don't spin in the aluminum piece later.

Or

You can get the bearing tool.

I have never needed anything special to remove or install bearings just a bit of time.:)

They are the same ones as ABEC bearing used in rollerblades. For the price you can replace all dirt cheap with good ABEC bearings. Any sport store will have them.
