Anyone have any tips I try to put them in the axle but the knuckle makes ut so hard since they have to go in on an angle

i never have issues with getting them in, use a pair of needle nose pliers, and slip the open side of clip down in and start edges of it in the groove on shaft, then using plier tips catch the back of shaft and front edge of clip and squeeze, it should pop right on if lined up in the groove.

Needle nose are the easiest but, if your trying to place them in the front suspension of a baja its best to get it started then use a flat screwdriver and push it in place.

Is it any easier taking the knucle off? Seems like it is a still going to be a pain because it is still so recessed

Thanks guys I figured it out. I remove the one pin allowing the knucle to swung out. Then I was able to wedge it in. Looks like this will be my technique. Hopefully the new clips are a better quality than the factory ones. The factory ones were super soft almost as bad as the washer in the pull start. I still want the clips. Rather than modified the axle to lock it. Since snapped clips are less expensive than bent arms or cracked knuckles

Make sure you put the clip on the right way. You should make sure the flat end faces out. The rounded/stamped end in. This will help the clip hold better.

You will notice if you look at one that there is a rounded edge and a sharp edge. You always want the sharp edge pointed out away from the item its installed in. It will have the best bite to help it from popping out. ;)

Wait,,,,,, I already said that.
