In the parking lot at work last night, I was running through my third tank blippin up to 3/4 throttle etc. All of sudden I started hearing this inconsistent clicking noise as if a pebble got caught in the engine so I was content that I might have to take apart and find it and finally install the DDM dam I bought.

I went in, checked for problems at work, (none, it's a holiday weekend...lol) and low and behold the noise was gone for the first 2-3 minutes when I started it back up, so it doesn't sound like a pebble??? Please have a listen and tell me what you think...

PS it didn't ever seem to affect running of the truck.

Sounds kinda like a air leak maybe when it starts to warm up it starts to leak hard to tell tho.
Thanks bro, didn't think air leak cause it doesn't affect performance at all...I think someone might know...

Maybe an exhaust leak? It also sounds like more of a knock, to me. Which would make sense if it does it when it's warmed up. Basically, the fuel mixture might be igniting before the spark can get to it. For shits and giggles, I'd try a higher octane fuel and see if that helps at all. Either that or you're running too lean.

sounds like one of the clucth housing bolts behind yhe clutch came lose that what mine sounded like before jamd in to the clutch and killed the motor.

Thanks Forist; Max those bolts are tight...Thanks Deluge I took the Engine conver off, Head bolts OK. I took off stock muffler and took off gasket. Need to replace gasket tomorrow although it looked OK Gonna try a few minutes with a thin rubber gasket way tightened. Oh and gonna put in a new spark plug it looked a little black after break in.

Thanks OBeast as well...

It is most likely an air leak, I will know for sure tomorrow when I get a new exhaust gasket (hopefully my LHS has one in stock)
