for some reason it got stuck with the clutch bell and the layshaft. i am using duratrax clutch bell and layshaft. I have the CAT5 18t pinion and the AMS 46 alum. gears. When i installed it, it went in smooth, and they are seems pretty loose. but now, i can not take it out, for some reason, the layshaft and the clutch bell seems to expand itself making the pinion, spur and the bearings stuck. is it because i use crappy duratrax parts?

is this possible, what went wrong and what should i do to take it out? :(

thanks

Sid

The duratrax gears and FG are not compatable. FG gears are even numbered and duratrax is odd. I know to use fg gears on a duratrax, there were a few parts that needed to be changed out to get it to work. It must be the same case where duratrax should not be a direct fit.

What can happen is a couple of things. If you used red locktight the locktight could of spread to between the gear and the shaft. This will bid them together. Second and what i think you are having is that the grub screws have bit into the shaft which will happen with DTX or FG. You will need to heat them up and spin them off. This will allow for the metal to round and the gears will slide off - Not easily though.:(

The motor mounts, gear carrier, radio tray, roll cage and Diff internals are different too.
