Are the Firehammer MT brakes useless or is it just me? The brakes hardly do anything unless the car is barely moving. I took the whole back end apart a few years ago. Maybe I messed something up when reinstalling them? I haven't driven the truck again until now.

I've no idea what they're like.
I'm sure a quite-well-known manufacturer will not throw brakes on that don't perform reasonably well.
I would definitely take a closer look at the operation and check out worn, loose, fouling, seized parts.

As a Note look in my thread..should be some thing on brakes there.Plus about any thing you want to know about a firehammer car or truck....But to be honest with you I have not used any brake system for over a year now..I still can control my converted firehammer at full speed..all in the driving skills & proper control of the trigger on a pistol grip transmitter.......SLAWHAMMER

i have a firehammer. i use to run the rampage mt tires on it and it would lock the tires up. check your travel in the brake arm. if it has to move alot before the brakes start to grab then you need to take up the slack. my arm would move about .25" before the brakes started to grab.

The arm just pushes the brakes a little to the side and it stops the rear wheels slowly if they're barely moving. I have one caliper in between the brake discs (in the middle) and one on the left and one on the right side. Then the vertical plastic piece the arm attaches to is on the right side.

I wonder if I put the brakes back on right or I need to adjust the arm?
