i mixed my fuel with venom racing oil 25-1
on first pull it went to go and didnt start, but now wont start whats the correct needle setting to get a basic idol runnin thanks for any help.

What carb? My WT-990 carb I adjusted at 1 1/4 on the L needle and 1 1/2 on the H needle as a run in point. With the WT-990 this forces me to turn the idle screw a bit in(clockwise) to get it started. After a few tanks of gas I ended up some what close to 1 and some turn out on both needles, and turning the idle screw back out a bit.

But as a first starting/running in point I would start out a bit rich, be prepared to change your spark plug after this, it may get fouled.

well says 990 on the carb didnt notice on manual i seen the guide in how to guides just wanted to be sure ill try that tomo and let you all know how i get on ill try do a video if we get her going cheers

Yes the ring was melted to the piston and first half tank I let it just idol no stress on engine using temp tool making sure engine didn't go high let run for aprox 2 mins the other half was ran 1/4 throttle max and second tank no more than half just bein gentle need to adjust low needle as she's a bit smokey need to turn in a small bit not an expert with these so I'm not really sure what I'm looking or listening for when tuning you can read all the threads you can but when it comes to getting your screw driver out kind of goes out the window!

There is an easy-to-follow tuning guide in the engine section. Just take it easy and adjust in small increments - 1/16th turn at a time. Start with the L needle then go with the H. You can also check plug colour to make sure you are in the right ball park - a choc brown is ideal. Black is too rich & light brown is too lean.
