Installing a new G320RC in OG Baja and it has gone smooth except the spacer for the pinion-side engine mount bolt appears too big. In measuring the piece that sticks out from the clutch housing it is indeed longer than on the stock CY23.

Is this a known thing? Should I just stack some washers to get the right height?

yeh its a thing fella , all ya need to do is measure the gap and either grind down the original spacer or find/ make one the correct length (y),
stack of washers will work fine but a spacer the right length will be much better,

Turns out the spacer for connecting the flywheel side roll cage bracket to the engine is too big for that spot with the G320 and is exactly.the right size for this spot. So I used that spacer and then 4 washers for the roll cage bracket. Voila!
