Hi this is the first time I have posted on this forum, seems to be alot of good info on here and nice people.

I have owned a BAJA 1000 evo2 for a few months now and would like to get a taller gear ratio (higher top speed).
I have designed a track for my baja5b, which works great. But when I take the MCD out I am constantly on and off the throttle, it reaches its top speed to quick.

Can someone point me towards the highest top speed gear ratio?
And what pattern/orientation I should have them set up for top speed?

The gears I have on there now using MCD's chart for referance is: A 39, B 24, C23 and D26.

I look forward to your responses

Thanks,
Shporsche.

Welcome to the forum.

As a starting point try 30 for A and 33 for B. Depending on your engine/pipe combo you should be able to swap them around for even more speed.

There is a gearing (MS excel) spreadsheet that you can download from-

http://www.rc-xtreme.de/mcd/knowhow/workshop/uebersetzungstabelle/uebersetzungseite.htm

It is written in german but it is clear what the inputs are...

Thanks Clive,
I found the ratio I'm after, the spreadsheet will come in handy.

a track in sydney for large scales... do tell!!

Yeah its a track in Sydney Upper Colo. I own a property on the river, where I have made a very nice track(of course I'm bias) good jumps, hills and fast corners:)

I thought of asking a few people up from HBF for a small event sometime, but I cant find the time due to work. I would also need to invite the right people, I don't want any problems.

If you are keen to drop and bash with a few of us someday and meet some of the guys, we run most weekends around the hills area, I'll sometimes venture out to bass hill but thats starting to die down a bit out there. There are some decent blokes in both bash groups, all in it for the love of the hobby, we all get along.
