I picking up the MT tomorrow, but after reading the threads on drive train and suspention, I am having second thoughts. It sounds like the upgrade parts r worse than oem. I have had my 5t for 2 months and haven't broke. I read that one thread he ran for first time and it wouldnt move. Please give me some advice to get it or to leave it alone.

I was the same way- you read a lot of negative threads. Don't let that discourage you, buy the upgrade kit- it comes with some spare parts. Read the sticky about the first run to do's.

rest assured my friend you will be a happy chappie, yep the rampage needs a few fixes out the box but they're not wallet breaking. In my largescale experience redcat are the best for sorting issues that we have and addressing them.

Biggest problem for the MT right now is diff cup shafts breaking and it only seems to be a problem with ported big borre motors, 77 dom pipes and a heavy th finger...but a nasty combo it seems to be..there are a only few here that at the moment are having problems but that could be down to driving style.... the tt is not having the same diff probs...just the mt with it's big tires.

the rampage is an awesome truck and if you haven't broke your 5t yet then i think your ramp will more than please you ( I could break a 5t in 5mins...trust me)

I feel like we will have diff cups soon that will work. or untill then get yourself two more baja rear wheels and tires get 4 baja hubs and run your MT as a truggy with buggy wheels less strain on the drivetrain

it all depends on you bud. are you expecting this to be like your 5t? its not. and also keep in mind that as you see many threads asking for help,or simplyh venting, not so many come on and say that they have run 15+ tanks with a moded mill and no major issues.. thats boring. some say you get what you pay for. and that has some truth. these rigs are defanitly lighter on the pocket and loads of fun. but its no hpi. you will need to do work. and depending on what you expect should be how you pick your mods. don't think your going to throw a 30.5 and a sprint pipe in and beat the snot out of it without breaking a drive part. same goes for the 5t. these are definatly well made machines with great customer support. redcats 5th scale line is also fairly new compared to hpi's line. not sure if you remember the disaster it was when the first 5b came out. hpi's customer service went as far as handing you a box. and they haven't changed. redcat is ontop of what needs to be done. and they have done a good amount of changes in a very short time. but i think the rest is up to us. the only major issue is with some diff parts. and that is not with everybody. im runningan upgraded mill and pipe and have only broke rear shock shaft. but i guess 8ft jumps will do that, right? the upgrade was $36.00. but any way, it all depends on what you are expecting from this. and also how you run.

Thanks for all your advice I will pick it up and c how it does. What good though is I am trading for it. Getting rid of my nitro and getting another 1/5 scale. Hopefully I wont be posting anytime soon on broken parts.
