So I had to get a little repair work taken care of which slowed down the project a bit....

I still have to drill the shock pistons. They have a 1.625" 41mm diameter and a stroke of about 3.75 stroke 95mm.
I could use some suggestions as to the hole size/ quantity. What can I use as an alternative to shock oil, tranny fluid?
I am also thinking of trying a reed valve for a quicker return. Bad idea?

I still have to drill the shock pistons. They have a 1.625" 41mm diameter and a stroke of about 3.75 stroke 95mm.
I could use some suggestions as to the hole size/ quantity. What can I use as an alternative to shock oil, tranny fluid?
I am also thinking of trying a reed valve for a quicker return. Bad idea?

I would actually reccomend some sort of shock oil for a dirt bike, had an uncle that raced semi pro and he had all sorts of oil for shocks. Trans oil is very thin. I would be interested to see how that sort if valve would hold up. Where (if I may ask) did you get the inspiration for it? It would need to be able to handle a high cycle rate and stay in place, may be a retainer to keep it in place?
 
Typically what you can do with respect to shock "valving" is create multiple shim "stacks". Each disk you drill with different diameter (or quantity) of port holes to allow varied levels of oil volume to pass through the orifices.

I planned to use fork oil but at $40 a litre I thought I might try something else for the first run but I guess a litre should be enough.

Can I use a killer bee kill switch on a four stroke? Connect the leads in place of the manual kill switch?
I plan to have triple redundant kill switches. A fourth channel on the radio to mechanically pull the teathered kill switch, a Killer Bee failsafe and a seperate FOB style remote deactivation.

I want to get this sucker going but there are quite a few finicky details to address.
 
Ah that's interesting set up for the shocks. Kinda reminds me of the auto adjusting type on vehicles. Very cool you found some scale ones! ?
The killer bee should work the same no matter what engine as long as it's a magneto of sorts. It just grounds out the kill wire.

Wow awesome work KustomKB.. you could try regular hydraulic oil for the shocks, we often use it for bikes in the front forks, shock piston design reminds me of Racetech gold valves, nice..

Dexron Atf is about 5 weight.

KillerBEE should work for the little 4 stroke, same principle..is that a little 50/70cc semi auto 3 or 4 speed? Does the motor run a 12volt system ?

What a fiddlesticking wonderful thing! I cant wait to see videos of this. Is the that pipe frame stiff enough? How do you prevent it from being ...wobbly, for a lack of a better term and limited english skills.
