Sorry about the million questions I have all over the forums like I stated before I am new to RC's in general. So I always do a lot of research before buying upgrades for MT and I found a thread on here and a link that RC Dad and posted about the HPI air filter with ShreadStack (Velocity Stack) set up that should be used for the MT. My problem is how do you install the stack? It goes between the carb and the air filter correct? I can't get the holes for the bolt to line up and are the bolts that come with it going to be long enough?

That is correct.

The bolt holes line up perfectly.

You will take your carb off. The bolts go through both the stack and carb into the insulator block.

Ok I think I figured it out. Your not supposed to use the HPI airfilter mounting plate that comes with it you just click in the filter to the shread stack correct? I was trying to use the base of the airfilter with the shread stack.

I'm doing this as well and of course I need to replace all the gaskets since they have torn off. I got some of the heavy duty gaskets from DDM and wasn't sure if I needed to coat them with anything before I put them on.

Have the two that go around the insulator block and then the one that goes between the carb and shreadstack.

Tried to find some threads on this but was unsuccessful.

vaseline is good to put on both sides of the gasket or just one. this allows easy seperation of the gasket from the mating surface w/out tearing or ripping them. i did this w/my atv's cvt housing gasket as i removed it a lot for tuning the clutch.
