Anybody have any tricks for cleaning white wheels to make them look like new? Mine are starting to turn yellow, like an FG gas tank... That sucks and I want them white, but I don't want to paint them or anything that will chip off and look dumb.

Thanks,
Trip..

We race in Holland once or twice a year an an equestrian center on compacted horse poop, piss and sand and aside from the sand, grit blasting the inside of the flywheel cover, you will easily turn even new wheels yellow (never eat yellow snow). I have in the past put my wheels in the dish washer and had good results and no damage but to be honest I can't be bothered any more. Have you tried mr muscle, bleach or oven cleaner, probably best to try on something old first.

I use alloy wheel foam cleaner on mine and it take all the tar & shite off but not sure if it will make them white again. Spray it on and leave it for a few minutes to work its magic then clean with a cloth or toothbrush & rinse off.

I just scrubbed my white Mickey Mouse boots (US Military spec) they were starting to rot (rubber) and were covered in crap, but I scrubbed them down with soft scrub with bleach and it worked... I guess I will have to try it on the wheels as well.
