my old fg baja 4x4 i used to powerwash it with water, i used to use compressed air and baby wipes when it wasn't at a filthy level, but i often wonder which is the best way, some models after runtime are really filthy,so which is the best method, compressed air is not so good for dried in mud and grit,BUT powerwashing with water is not so great either cause depends on the water and how hard/soft it is,it may corrode in time and rust some metal parts,my old fg the caliper springs were getting corroded from powerwash water. how do you do yours??

In my opinion a power washer is not a good idea. I found this out years ago on motorcycles. You flush the grease out of bearings and force water where it should not be. To really get it clean it needs to be disassemble but in between I use Wild Cat extreme cleaner. I mist it with the cleaner, hit the big build up with a old tooth brush and blow it of with compressed air. I all so found if it gets muddy to try and blow the worst of it off before it dries.

This is after running 3 days during a race weekend where it rained all 3 days. I drove 600 miles to race so I was going to do so no matter what the weather was like. It was muddier after my last heat but it sat in the rain while I turned marshaled and some of the mud got washed off. LOL The picture was taken when I got home just before cleaning.

if my baja is really bad, like mud everywere and wet i leave it to dry out then use a toothbrush and a 1"paint brush then wd40 here and there if the pullstart is wet i take it off pull the handle till the cord is fully out jam it open and leave it to dry out then a bit of wd40 on the pawl. i,ve been running the same pullstart for over 2 years if looked after they will last. i think the jetwash idea is ok but it is going to blast all greased parts clean.

i used to with my baja take the electrics out, filter off & cap the hole plug the zaust & jet wash it @ maximum pressure on my karcher, then spray the whole thing in wd 40 & hang it outside to dry off, then rub the excess wd off with a towel, my buggy never let me down when i did this
