Hello

I am pretty new to 5th scale and I got my dbxl back in november and ran it a few times and wanted more power so I upgraded the engine...the problem I am now having is the dbxl is not slowing down fast enough when I get on the brakes. I adjusted the linkage and I would still like it to brake harder....does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I know you adjusted the brake linkage, but that doesn't mean the braking strength is getting to the front wheels, which is what actually makes you stop shorter. The front brakes need to clamp harder than the rear, and also the center differential oil mixture needs to be thick enough to not unload under braking, just like under acceleration or else it will just slip to the other wheels. 3 things to check for: dirty brake discs/pads, weak servo, and last, loose diff. fluid. (go thicker). If you are running stock servos and battery, a better receiver pack can really wake the stock servos up. So cheap fix would be battery and thicker center diff. oil to get more transfer to the wheels. The servos can be pricier but still worth the money in the long run. You'll have to feel it out, to know what needs what and where to spend your money best.

Thank you Revolauncher so much for your great answer....and as I said I am new to the hobby, so what diff oil would you recommend and should I also use the same oil in the front and rear diff's too? I did upgrade the battery so I think my servo's are fine.

The center should be thicker than the front and rear. My 5ive had 300K center and 50K front with 20K rear and it handled great. Any thinner center diff. oil and the front tires would just balloon under acceleration.

What's wrong with brakes is servo it not traveling far enough look at the linkage at center diff the fuel tubing and see if it's collapsing when applying the brakes if not adjust the travel end point on radio
Or tighten the collets on the brake rods
To make tubing compress more

Nitrocat...thank you for the reponse, and when I apply the brakes the clear tubing does compress some....maybe 1/3 of the way if that makes sense....how much more should it compress? I moved the linkage out futher on the plastic servo arm so it pulls more too.

What radio do you have
You should be able to increase end point and make it move father
About a 1/8 to 1/4 inch compression should be enough

Nitrocat...I have the stock radio that came with the dbxl....do you think I should try and get more travel out of the servo?

There is a end point adjustment on it but I never used mine so I can't tell you how to do it
I put mine on a dx3r pro so kill switch would work before I started it
