I do have the top end off my 2.0 with less than 2 tanks on it sitting in a box

I don't have the time right now to explain the differences in detail. Long story short. Detroit engines use a blower to pressurize the cylinders, they also have exhaust valves. 4 stroke is a totally different operating principal the 2 stroke.

Thats what happened with my latest killing Doug, little bit of grit/sand in the barrel and scored the liner slightly, still had plenty compression too.
Time to pull the head and have a spy.
