Hi everyone

i am a bit confused wether should i buy hpi baja 5t or mcd baja 1000 pro-truck competition plus.

Which one is better?

Better acceleration and top-speed after adding upgrades?????

Are there any topics available where there is the comparison for both trucks??????

Plz comment... Need help in deciding.

Thx

Wow, two different models completely.

4wd and 2wd cannot be compared so easily.

They are known to be two great vehicles. Depends on how you will be using it and what you want it to do?
One nice thing about the MCD is that you can build it to what you want instead of upgrading it later like with the HPI.

Good luck on your pick. I say either.

+1 BTB,
If you want a car that handles like its on rails than the MCD is for you. The MCD handle jumps ok but if you want big air you need a baja. The shock travel is superior on the baja. The baja has tendencies to kick its but out more since ins a 2WD and the MCD stays more its course.
so the question is what are you looking to do?

Chris

what i wanna do with both trucks. bashing, some jumping and drag racing on sand.
we can get 60-70mph from 5t after upgrades.

what speed we can get from baja 1000 pro-truck??????????

The only way you will get close to 60 mph from a Baja 1000 (even with a tuned engine/pipe) is using very long gearing and the trade off is poor acceleration.

They are heavy in stock form (approximately 26 pounds) and have an inefficient transmission compared to the HPI Baja 5T.

I have jumped my Baja 1000 without any issues but the better choice for your needs is the 5T.

Proof that your 5t will do 70 in the sand.....I want to see a video and clocked
speed.........Don't be saying some thing you can't back up..with out proof....
other wise all talk.......Slawhammer

i don't have any proof for top speed. i think with 27.2 full mod motor, ddm v2 pipe, clutch and gearing 20/54. we can hit almost 60mph

I want to try and hit 80 with my on road semi, and to do it we are gearing it stupid high and I am going to drive while standing out the sunroof in my bud's bmw, while he drives the car. only way I can see it possible. the problem we are having is finding a big enough area to do it... and that's on pavement with no drag. I was inspired by his video flying a plane from his car the same way... he's an impressive flyer

5t is my vote too, I have had a few different MCD EVO III's.. THe MCD's are expensive to fix, no real upgrades needed. THey don't jump very high and survive. THe HPI has great sustomer support. Mcd doesn't have any customer support. What do you want. I can beat my T or B all day and not break anything. IUf I do, the parts that break are cheap, and I have them in my parts box.

Can't do this with a MCD.
