hpi shock retainer fix

here's a mod I did to get the hpi shock retainers to clear the arms when using hpi shafts, standard or 6mm. I'm using the standard cos my lhs didn't have the 6mm and i can't wait until the bajampage kits are ready before I run my TT.So i got hpi rears and rampage fronts for now, see which ones snap first


I used roll cage cross bars from the ramp and fg/duratrax, drilled out the holes bigger, 11/32nds for the bigger one and either 4mm or 6mm for the shaft





the bigger one is a tight press fit on the bottom of the end, it raises the retainer up, the smaller one goes over the shaft and I epoxied it in place and i used the oring in the groove to stop it wobbling. The stroke is the perfect length, the nut on top of the piston comes level with the top of the shock body.

wow bro. i see why you had to do that, but im wondering why i didnt. didnt even have to trim and it ever so slightly rubs at fuul thro. not sure if you can see from this pic, ya ya cant tell. i'll have to get a better pic. it really doesn't rub at all

the alloy arms are half the thickness of the plakky ones so yours have clearance.
