HW Max 4

Hello there,

I Was hoping someone can tell me more about the motor overheating function in the max 4 esc. The option is there but I’m wondering if it is really working, in the manual is written that the function is permanently disabled bij manufacturing. But I think it a good option to keep your motor safe from overheating, sometimes your so busy whit playing around that you forget to check temperature.

Anyone experience whit this function.

Not on the 4 but the 5, but I'd expect it to be similar. Using the program box shows 3 settings: Disabled, 105C and 125C for both the motor and ESC. Also if you plug the box in after a run it will give max temp readings for ESC and Motor as well as max RPM and Amp draw at the end of the programming menu.

I think the ESC was my weak link though as my motor was a cool 55C while the ESC was 137C

I don’t see any temp settings in the manual for either Max5 G2 or Max4. Does the program box offer different setting options?

Ah yes.....I have updated to the latest firmware. Apparently on the stock software there is a certain loading and rpm where the brakes would fail to operate!

Wasn’t that just telling you the current internal temps? I didn’t see an option to change anything.

Niet op de 4e, maar op de 5e, maar ik had verwacht dat het vergelijkbaar zou zijn. De programmabox toont 3 instellingen: Uitgeschakeld, 105 °C en 125 °C voor zowel de motor als de ESC. Als je de box na een run aansluit, geeft hij aan het einde van het programmeermenu de maximale temperatuurwaarden voor de ESC en de motor weer, evenals het maximale toerental en de stroomopname.

Ik denk dat de ESC mijn zwakke schakel was, aangezien mijn motor een koele 55C was, terwijl de ESC 137C was.
