8 cars.

And I thought I had issues.:ROFLMAO:
I had no choice with the seller it was either buy all 8 for one price or none at all.

I could easily be sucked into vintage rc collecting.
i only have a couple and that's the way i want to have it unless a sweet condition one is for sale at a good price.

could do with re pointing that wall mate lol
no sure what you mean mate but it not my wall anyway.

the chassis has limited wear it should clean up o.k & the engine is gummed like most of the used engines i get it and should be o.k to get started.

i have bought a few mother loads in the past and most of it has been what i want and i got about 6 starter boxes now....i could split up some rc's and sell locally without a loss or could even make a profit but having them is really about get them running again.

this aluminum clutch bell and it's screw also holds down the flywheel it's like what was used in the 80's but Tamiya was still using it in 2004.
and the back of the crank is gummed i guess the previous owner planned to store it forever.
The teeth on this bell has more chips than a hillbilly and lucky the spur is still ok.

does anyone know what this horizontal shock spring with o-ring going through it actually does?
the front bumper goes over it but what's the purpose of the spring & o-ring?

i found this pic from another forum and even the owner of it didn't know the spring/o-ring purpose.
maybe it's for the front bumper when it impacts..it's weird.

Looks to me like those shock uprights pivot and the spring is involved somehow. There is a zig zag separation in the center by the looks of it.

thanks mate you're right, i took a closer look and the shock tower is 2 piece with the zig zag join and i guess the spring & o-ring acts like a tensioner for it.
i have the spring but missing the o-ring...it's odd for sure.

Tamiya must of thought if the front hits something hard enough the 2 piece shock tower would open a bit to stop it from breaking? like a servo saver post.

Kinda my thoughts too, but it also appears to be bolted top and bottom on each side, so why not make it one piece? Ive been scouring the web and can't find mention of it. I'm really curious.

i diffs are missing part M3 bushing and the rear diff was dry with no grease i'm surprised there is no damage at all to the gears.
i got to get the diff bushings before finishing it what a suck now i have to wait.
the muffler is made off 3 pieces screwed together with a gasket down the middle...genius.

if i bought this tamiya car kit new back in 2004 i would of wanted to return it back to the hobby shop for a refund or exchange for a different manufacture kit.
