I bought a 30.5 5b off of this eBay dude, Dan. First out of the box, the shocks were bound up, the gas cap didn't vent, and the pipe was bent and not sealed on motor. After a tank of fuel with proper break in, motor lost all compression. So I was sent a replacement( already been run) engine and pipe. So far after 52 minutes of warm up and break in, motor stops, won't idle, nothing. I cleaned carb, adj needles, adj linkage, new plug, nothing. GARBAGE. TRASH. DON'T BUY KING MOTOR. So "Dan" said I can't help you, no warranty, it would cost me money if I help you. I don't care if your not happy and your baja is broken (it's new). You can buy parts off of me, but otherwise, no luck, piss off. Don't buy off of this dude, don't buy KM. DON'T. I have a 560.00 doorstop now. I'd like to take it and shove it up the guys arse that sold me that crapper. KING MOTOR=piss poor quality. KING MOTOR= piss poor customer service. Don't buy one. BUY AN HPI. Or set the money that you will spend on the KM on fire, it's the same thing. :mad:

+1 dan is a great guy I have bought 3 cars from him and nothing but great service yes there are lemonson anything that you buy hate to here that your received one and yes you are entiltedto your opinion just like everybody elseso yes if you feel that way just buy an HPI and I hopeyou get great service with it and move on!!!!!!!! it will be ok.
 
no probs buying off Dan here either, my truvks been good, only outta box damage was a lil over the rear wheel on body, no biggie i fixed that. other than that nothing wrong at all on mine.
 
i bought my KM from Dan and its been nothing but great. the only thing ive done to it was upgraded the engine from a KM 23cc to a DDM 29cc billet motor and not because i had to. still have the old engine for a backup. it got me into a 5th scale at reasonable price thanks to Dan.
 
The point I was trying to get to is if you buy an RC that is half the price of it's direct competitor expect to work on it that is why you are saving $500. For $500 you can put a bitchin motor in that thing. So lighten up and get over it:)
 
Now i don't know who this Dan is, prob a very nice guy but to wash your hands on someone after what looks like a bad KM build from the start is a bit much, i doubt anyone would be happy to spend $560 for 1 hours enjoyment...

If sold via ebay you still have rights and to me the Item wasn't right from the start, yes he helped with another motor and pipe but he should have replaced the whole item...i'd log a complaint with ebay and ask for a refund...

Granted you may lose the postage costs but its better than having a 560 doorstop...I've had a KM and was pleased with it, some issues such as pull start and carb but overall it went well, a mate of mine got his after me and his motor would die once it got hot, get yourself a zen or cy if it can't be returned and bash on...
 
I have 4 hpi's and 1 km......my km has givin me less issues than my hpi's and runs just as well, I bought mine used from craigslist. haven't had to do anything to it.

Thats funny my km was a peice of poop from day one, i got rid of it 1 week later. Then i bought a hpi baja and its never missed a beat

Sorry to hear bud. But hate to say it, you get what you pay for. Check out out eBay and buy yourself a CY fuelie 26. There are a few reputable sellers parting out Hpi SS kits. Goodluck bud.
 
I personally would have spent this much getting it rugged enough for me whether it was HPI or KM regardless this amount is $500 less because it was KM.

lol thats how it goes, I have 2 hpi's that give me no issues and 2 that act up now and then and give me lots of issues.
 
I only got my km 2.0ex yesterday, I got it directly from KM.
I took it out last night in the mud, I strapped one of my hunting torches onto it and let rip. It came back COMPLETLY stuffed full of grass, mud slugs and crap, everythings fine. I just let it warm up a bit then drove it as fast as I wanted, seems good.
Im going to take it down to a bmx track they are building in the next few mins, its going to be a mud bog, theres been loads of rain here over the last few weeks, so we will see what happens!.
i know its very early days, but so far mine is doing very well.

EDIT: OP what exactly does your "52 minutes of warm up and break in" consist of? maby your doing something wrong, what oil are you using? your not letting it idle or holding it at a consistant rpm for your "break in or warm up" perhaps ?

Holy spending! Some day I'll have a fresh rugged set-up like you have. Congrats. I'd love to see some pics. I'm 40 and been a mechanic all of my life, I got into the rc addiction a lil late.
