Hi Guys,

I just bought an E-Converted Baja T1000 from DanLC4, a Pro Seller on RCU, and boy is it nice! Dan used a Fine Design e-conversion and installed a Neu 2215 2Y motor (750KV)! Once I got it, I installed a Castle Creations Hydra HV240 that had been converted with two heatsinks glued on the pipes with thermal epoxy, which makes it a land version! I then installed a set of Integy front brakes, with Python brake cable upgrade, and a set of KM alloy upgrades, a Hi-Tech 7955 high torque servo for the brakes, and a 4 1/2" X 4 1/2" 48V cooling fan to make sure that the ESC and motor keeps nice and cool! I have also installed a pair of Kong Power 6S 22.2V 25C 5000MAH batteries in series for 44.4V! On 12S I have been advised that it will be insanely fast, so I dialed the throttle down to 66%! I have also intalled a wheelie bar from Team Go-Nads to help keep the nose down until we figure out how to control all of that power! According to Dan and Chris over at Fine Design it should be capable of speeds over 70 MPH!! That ought to be a sight to see, if we can keep it on the road! I will also be mounting a set of Proline Bow-Tie tires and Desperado wheels, with the alloy beadlocks! Haven't run it outside yet only bench tested it! I am still waiting on some Axial Velcro battery straps to show up and I will be ready to run it! I have attached some photos of it!

Congrats on your purchase.

That thing should be fast for sure. Electrics are pretty sweet, especially this size.

Thanks guys! I will get a video of it running as soon as I have a chance to get it set and running! Which should be soon I hope! I will also need to find someone here with a video camera willing to let me borrow it for a day!

Hey Guys,

I ran the T1000 for the first time yesterday and it ran fine and was very fast, but I did not like the steering at all! The motor never got over 130 degrees and the ESC never even got warm! The batteries were a little hot when I finished! I ran for about 15 minutes with speed runs and only used about 2000MAH of the 5000MAH batteries! Which means I still had another 15 minutes left to run! There seems to be way too little steering control! I spent most of today tearing the front end apart to see why there was so little movement in the steering control! What I discovered was a whole lot of play in the plastic steering bell crank, so I just ordered an alloy set! Also, I found that the rod ends on the A arms were way too stiff, so I spent a couple of hours working them over to loosen them up a bit, which should help relieve some of the load on the steering servo! It is a metal gear 23g servo and seems to have plenty of power, but between the stiff rod ends and the bending plastic bellcranks there ended being too little wheel movement! I could barely turn around in the street! I should have the new alloy bellcranks installed by next weekend and can test its performance again! By the way, I also ordered a 56T spur gear and a 18T metal pinion gear, as I had a whole lot of low end torque, with very little motor temp, so I decided to raise the gear ratio a bit to get more top end! Also, the clutch works great! It gives the motor a chance to get passed the intial surge before it engages and makes for a smooth startup, which will probably help the rest of the gear train last awhile!

Nothing is going to happen until this weekend! It is raining now and is expected to keep raining until Saturday! Also, still waiting for the alloy steering bellcrank to show up!
