Hey guys just wanted to get your opinion I was wondering which one was better 30.5cc 2 speed, 29cc engine single speed. or a 30.5cc single speed?

some guys like the single gear setup, mine i got from Dan has the 2 speed on it, really screams when that gear hits, and it can be adjusted to what speed you like it to catch at too

It seems like you like your truck do you have any videos of it uploaded to you tube?

only thing that really happened was the PS screwed on 2nd tank of gas, it was one without the collar around the pawl, i replaced it with one i found on ebay that HAD the collar around the pawl, and not a single issue with it since then as far as PS goes. i did alot of upgrading on it while not really running it stock, aftermarket alloy stuff and whatnots, whatever ya do keepyour a arms plastic, if you got alloy on the entire suspension system youll regret it, first good smack and you bent stuff up, leaving a buffer zone such as the front and rear bumpers remaing plastic, and a arms, leaves breaking points that is needed, cuz if all alloy the same hard smack can transfer that energy to elsewhere in vehicle sometimes resulting in more devastating damage than just a broke a arm easily replaced.

Yeah I intend to keep it mostly plastic when I get it, just for the fact of crashes. As far as the pullstart thanks for the heads up. Have you had any issues with the 2 speed? I guy that I talked to said he had issues with a one way bearing, whatever that is.

no isssues on mine so far, that one way bearing is in the large double gears, and yah i heard that some go out, mines ok so far, i used to have a link to a place to get new ones, they werent real expensive, round 30 bucks if i remember right, im sure tho if ya had bearing out and got the number off it, googled it youd prolly find places to get one from. unless someone here in this KM section might know offhand the sources to get one from, you could ask, in a new thread bout it.

seeing as i never had the single and cant compare it to the 2 speed i cant say one over the other is better. but myself, yah i like the 2 speed, when mine hits that rpm and it kicks in it makes a definate sound change like a suzuki shifting up on a race, mine seems to hit pretty close to that 60 mph as adverstised. havin 2 speeds allows the lower gear to still give plenty of torque, and that higher gear for the speed, best of both worlds. not to say that the one way bearing will last forever, even in mine, and if all else fails, you can revert it back to a single speed if you wish by changingin the gears out, and i think the bell will have to be changed too, its a longer shaved shaft to fit the dbl gear pinion, over the shorter shaft of a single pinion bell.

so as a whole yah i like mine so far.

How well do the gears hold up? I have always been under the assumption that the external 2 speeds like this were not good for offroad due to the stress of the driveline shocks of gaining and loosing grip constantly.

mine are in good shape so far, but driving types and styles can differ too. i think if doing mostly all offroading the single gear would be best, but if you do a lil of both then the 2 speed may be better for that. cuz in offroad, you really don't need to be flying 60 mph over ruff terrain anyways, ya want that torque and power, but if terrain is smooth like a paved road long, so ya can really wind that sucker out that extra gear comes in handy. so really depends on the main type of driving ya plan to do with it. myself, i take mine out and rip it up some offroad, but i also run it up and down the paved road in front of the house, or the mowed field on other side, fields got its uneven surface, but i can still get it to kick in to 2nd gear cuz its a long wide field, then i can also go over to wifes other property, and mess round down by the creek, up on the banks throwin roosters 3o feet in the air, man that fun!
