(maybe wrong section of forum, but here it goes)


So I was wondering if anybody has seen someone convert the Kraken RC's HPI base vehicle into a 4x4.


i saw a lot posts in forums about why isn't HPI making 4x4s


i really like to get the new cage that Kraken is working on (see pics), this was custom made by their Japanese current cage Designer 'Akihiro Shiomura' (this guy is a genius) altho it is originally meant for a 2x4, this car can really be awesome if a 4x4 chassis/setup is built on.


I am gathering some info to start on the chassis (note that 5T is almost 1 meter long). Since the cage is a direct fitment I can use its basis.


I am thinking of making a 3D project having incorporated a drivetrain design close to Losi 5t and HPI 5T (better servo place/ battery place, etc...) I can also post pictures and have your thoughts/Critics on it. I am sure some of you have 10+ years of 5th scale experience and might contribute to the perfect 5th scale RC.


does anybody have the CAD drawings of both? (Losi 5t and Hpi 5T)


any idea from where I can get them?


once the 3D design is approved (weight distribution/cosmetics/ease of maintenance /longer and wider CVDs) i can post the file so that you can manufacture it.

Why can't one of the big companies design a buggy like that? They would sell like crazy. Instead, we're left with goofy looking vehicles like Hurrax or Nutech.

Kraken RC has already designed the Class1 TSK and currently selling it. (DDM and their website)

the pictures that I attached showing the blue car at the moment is in the design stage and will be out this year (as per Kraken Rc's posts on facebook)

Note that, Akihiro had already desgined and custom built the blue car to one of his japanese friend in the past; since everybody was asking where to get one as well, and after numerous fan requests, they decided to add the car to their production list. LOL Akihiro even got a permission from his friend 'Hey, can I mass produce your cage/design and sell it?'

So you can get your hands on the blue buggy just like the one in the pic this year :)

too bad it is Rear wheel drive tho, since you have to tear down your baja 5b/5T/5SC to direct fit it in.

Kraken RC upgraded their CVDs, Chassis and whatnot into Titanium.

check pics. they're widely being sold atm

also, check Akihiro's famous Albums in the link below. he actually fabricated all the cars..
