Hello!
After a 33 year break between playing with RC cars i decided to get a new car. Looking at all the different models/platforms that the average Joe can get hold of today i settled on a Team Losi Racing 5 Buggy race kit. There were a few reasons for getting the 5B. If you build it your self its easier to fix, you know that all the nuts bolts ect are tight (very important for high speed machines). Losi genrally has a good reputation for quality RC cars, and finally being able to build a race spec car at a VERY VERY! good price how could i not get the obvious choice the 5B. I know its not the perfect car.. like every rc car out there it has a few issues, but with the collective knowledge of the WWW all the issues that we face in the rc hobby can be looked at and overcome.
Because i have not got every part for the build as yet ie radio/electronics ill star my build thread with the front axle diff and suspension bag B
https://flic.kr/p/295HAbA https://flic.kr/p/2aeSDEB at the end of bag B this is the diagram that you would find in the manual
https://flic.kr/p/28RKDuV if any body has any comments, tips or tricks as i get on please don't hesitate.

so i have done a few more bits.. not anything major but took some pics anyway.
have to change the flywheel cover on the zenoha to get it to fit in the 5B
https://flic.kr/p/2ac2wzq have to change it to the CY cover
https://flic.kr/p/LvjpSV next to install the clutch coz it comes from DDM with the clutch lose and a machined clutch housing so it will fit
https://flic.kr/p/N8X5yY https://flic.kr/p/29aSiKG https://flic.kr/p/Lvo8u6 i also put on a pull start cover

was not that happy with the stick on Velcro in parts it was not very sticky....ill have to re glue at some point

now this should be bag 3 but the bags seemed to have the wrong numbers on. a quick look at what was in the bag and what the manual was asking for did the trick

few more bits an pieces to go shock towers and sway bars....
i stuck to the suggested +1 on the kick up

Ok so i started on the rear diff. what i found quit interesting was the use of aluminum inserts for the bearings between the diff and the housing
bag D1

thought id take a few more pics as i put the diff together

like the way the pin locates the gear inside the diff cup

planetary gears going in
