locking diff

One of the members 'Ducky' had a Vis diff and he blew a few teeth.He said it wold of cost more than what the diff was worth to repair it!(don't quote me on it,its here somewhere in the forum) .
I'd do with an FG LSD(0 to 80-90% lock up) cant go wrong for Ebay price around £50.Got one on me monster.

im running the fg diff with the four plates in but with standard outer sleave and that works realy well i am going to at some point make it adjustable but i didnt want to raise the diff plus i only bash so its upto the job of that

i did use diff raisers but needed to change the layshft gear so I went for the 'Chassis cut'.Fits great now.

you got any pics of that chassis cut that may be another option for me am i right i thinking youve cut a slot next to the diff gear onedoes the diff protector still fit on the underside ok
 
no hurry bud just interested maybe a future mod is the diff going to be a nice improvement once adjustable as its good now so god know how good it is with a bit of adjustment
 
just reading your responses here,.......so the locking diff wont fit the off road chassis without a chassis plate modification? I was leaning more toward the conversion kit over to the four fold, I already have alum diff housing/bearings.......
 
no worrys mate i think ive got the idea you cut a slot next to diff gear one when i get diff bits im sure it will all become clear like i say its not a hurry the diffs working great at the min
 
Ended up stuffing the diff with some Mobil1 synthetic, high temp, waterproof grease. I packed it full, and ended up with a reasonable amount of resistance.
Prob wont last too long, but gives the effect for a heat or two. No cutting, no dremel work, and no 350bucks........???
