I've had two DBXL-Es, one a loaded build for 12s. They are pretty good if you upgrade some parts like the shocks and harden the drive train a bit; they use slightly smaller diameters for shafts and pins, etc.

Platform wise, I prefer the 5ive T. But I also prefer buggy body over the bulky truck body, SO I ordered a long chassis Grafil body, wing and brace, and front bumper to convert it to a long chassis buggy. It rips!

What I like about the DBXL-E is that it can use a single straight driveshaft whereas the 5ive-T driveshaft is off-center at the rear diff. The DBXL-E seems like a newer design, but they also seem less rugged.

E Version.

The gas version is limited to small block engines due to size/space which is a major setback imo, my dibby 2.0 is full alloy so on the heavy side with a taylor 35 V2 reed, bottom end is gimp, tired everything from different engines/carbs/gear ratio/tuned pipes etc. So its either convert my dibby back to mostly stock so its much lighter, which i really do not want to do, or just wait & hope Taylor releases a chassis for the dibby that will accept bigbores! Or 3rd option, try some how to fit the dibby panels/cage to a 5T! :)

I love my Dibby, but 5ive- T/B, no contest. It's so much more stable and durable. If I were to go back and build it again. I'd do as Tizdaz plans and bolt a DBXL body on to a 5ive-B.
