DBXL 2.0 losi dbxle-2.0 best combo for 12s sometimes.....

hey guys, im thinking of picking up a new losi dbxle 2.0 soon and was wondering if anyone can help me as far as power systems are involved. I see alot of ppl running hw max4 systems but, now that the new hw max5 v2 12s systems are out, is the max4 still really needed? i heard that if the max5 is geared up too much it will cut out but i think thats regarding the v1 max5? So what do i want? i plan to run 8s most the time, but would like the 12s capability for once in a while. any help would be great.

I build one around 2 years ago with a max4/560 combo and sold that to a friend. I recently built another one with same exact parts. If I would of done it again I would of gone with max5 G2 combo as the max4 combo is just way too much power. It is truly overpowered for the DBXL-E 2.0.

No matter which one you get, definitely need to upgrade diff case , bulk heads, hubs to vitavon.

Max5 G2 is fine for 12s. If you gear it up crazy it might cut but I've run it with 650kv and 20/46 gearing and had no issues. 800kv with probably 16-17t pinion and stock spur would be good for 8s and 12s sometimes.

i actually ended up going with the max5 g2 800kv combo. running stock spur, 15t pinion so far thats all i had on hand. have yet to try it, i am trying to get the programer pro box to link to the esc to update the firmware but its giving me complications.
