Has anyone ever run their SBR on 8s? The manual says the ESC will handle it but not to do it. Will the truck structurally fall apart? It’s got the same 160A ESC that the Super Rock Rey has. If someone out there has run their SBR on 8s please let me know the outcome. Thanks!

nice rig. I may still have to get one and have both the UDR and SBR. I see you have some nice hot racing goodies fitted too.
it would be great to see a video of this running 8s.

is the battery tray big enough for x2 4s hard case lipos or would you need x2 soft case lipos?

To be quite honest I still have to obtain some 4s Lipos! I bet they are gonna have to be soft case. If it wasn’t such a pain in the rear to take the body off it would reveal a couple of more upgrades. I have a Hot Racing servo mount and GPM steering bell cranks. I’ve run this thing hard on 6s and have never had ANY problems. I love the truck but wish it was easier to take the body off! I immediately put the HR rear third member in because what I’ve read about the Baja Rey bearing getting hot and melting the third member. I just can’t seem to leave any of my vehicles stock! I love upgrades!

I still want a UDR as well. How do you like yours?

The udr is one of my favourite rc cars at the moment,, it is the most used these past couple of months. And I haven’t broken anything yet. I upgraded the rear arms to rpm arms before I ran it.

I have geared it up slightly as I only run 4s and it’s pretty fast imo!
I don’t really get that people say it’s slow on 4s. They must have just went 6s out the box so I would guess then it may feel slow on 4s lol

The only downside to the udr is its not much fun on high traction surfaces but then you have to drive with scale in mind if you yank the steering at speed it will just roll over and result in a trashed body over time ?

Resurrecting an old thread to help those looking to mod for 8s - especially using hard case batt packs like me... My rear driveline showed up split in half and duct taped, so I ordered a metal one. Granted, I don't plan on running 8s all the time, mostly just when I do hill climbing or sand play. I have paddles for it.

After doing all of the research on this swap and being mostly done. I can tell anyone looking for this info what I have found.
the 2.0 is basically the same as the 1.0, except for the middle part of the vehicle... LOL My SBR came with an upgraded Hobbywing 200A ESC and 1100kv motor. I could squeeze two 4s packs into it, but, it was tearing up the coverings and I figured it would go up in flames sooner than later.

What you need - other than the motor/esc unless you are going to run the original setup:
Lower chassis plate - the new 8s system has the battery door on the bottom. PN LOS251083 ~$60.
Rear bulkhead/battery cage - no batt door, has latch for bottom batt load door. Comes as one unit. PN LOS251080/LOS251083 usually sold together for ~$45.
