Rebuilding my modded baja with my new Taylor reed 35v2 and a new carbon chassis . Making some parts like rear chassis from 4mm carbon and wheely bar from carbon and alli that I will machine up to fit.
Has a Chinese 32 reed in at the moment , but I have some ideas to try on the buggy as I build it

Built it up with the supports and gearbox. I am using stainless hardware throughout the build.
Next up is to join the rear and main chassis.

Like some green on the car so the wife can not tell it from the Baja Q shorty she got me for my birthday.
May go full out and fit the extra long arm set to this , and some big volume shocks , when I can liquidate some assets in the form of Tamiya RC tanks.
Looking to build a carbon roll cage as well.
Body is going to stay green for obvious reasons, works well as long as she never sees both cars at the same time.

Started fitting the FLM kit and ordered Taylor shock mounts .
Keeping the hubs in case I want to fit the hydraulic brakes (which I will) back on.
Started work on carbon roll cage and wheely bar mount. Waiting for parts now and stainless bolts.

Done a load more work on the buggy.
Next up is piping up the brakes and building the carbon fiber roll cage, using 8mm alli bar inside the 10mm carbon tube joints to reinforce.
Started cutting and machining ally rear mounts for wheely bar , rest will be carbon sheet.

Work so far on the roll cage. All joints are reinforced with 8mm alloy bar .
Made up the mounts front and rear which need milling out to take cage end bars.
Made up roof and split joint parts for rear of cage .
Made up wing mounts .
Need to mill mounts at an angle to match cage and mill slots for roof mounts and wing mounts , which will be a sliding fit and bonded in with epoxy.
Then clear coat the cage.

Milled out the holes in the front cage mounds today and fitted the joiners , glued them in with epoxy and drilled and tapped the hold down bolt locations through the lot .
Filed off the remains of the joiner that was sticking through.
Mounted onto the chassis and loose fitted the main cage bars and roof to see where I need to mill for roof mounts .
Rear section of cage s removable with alloy pin joiners to make it more user friendly in service.

Got the roll cage mostly finished and fitted, Temp fitted the body to check clearances .
Temp fitted clamps to carry shock remote cylinders which require shaping to fit onto shock mount better.
Fitted joiners to take brake pipes , piping up and bleeding up next.
Working on the carbon gear cover to make it fit a bit better.
Fitted the old alloy rear wing to test location , but I think I will be fitting a carbon wing when They become available again.
Loads of small jobs still to do.
