LOL, that's sweet! I had to look twice, at first glance I thought this was a real sand rail! Did you build the chassis?
hi, yes built a few,
most important parts to get are the enclosed clutch cover and good air filter and bag and a pullstart cover, if you want a roost in the sand get some paddles aswell, there some vids of the green one running at the beach ,

Go easy on the grease in ball drives etc cos it will attract sand and wear parts faster than running without. Make sure you give it a good clean down after each run especially if it is beach running where there will be salt present rather than dune running which is less corrosive. Oh and keep a large stock of bearings cos you will get through them very quickly :D

never thought of that...

Tip... Shoe glue on the bottom of the coil because the flywheel will
act as a sand blaster and will fook up the coil :)

very good tip... i run 95% on the beach.. besides an enclosed turtle racing clutch system, redneck pre filter, outerwear's on the air filter, case, and pullstart, windows all around, desert rat body and undertray, dry-lube used primarily for lubricating exposed moving parts, diy rear a-arm/boot sheilds, liquid taped around kill switch (sand was finding its way in through the orange cover), shock covers, diy brake spring added, drilled out throttle slide, and i put a plastic bag in the front of the body pan... right behind the wheels where the front of the baja is wide open and acts as a sand scoop... the bag does not interfere with stearing at all and keeps out a good portion of sand... other then that, i wash her off after every use.. (yes i cover the air cleaner and carb and battery box... all my electronics are water proofed) blow off with wide air valve at no more the 40psi... armour all or wd-40 or silicone spray the whole rig down.... rub down, spray again. rub down again... then just a finish buff with a clean dry cloth.. she always looks nice, and i have only trashed one bearing due to freezing up... i have not a single rust spot and she is still running strong... some people might think you are crazy for running at the beach, but with a little common sense and good mainetance, you should have no problems... good luck, and enjoy...

I don't know if anyone is aware of this, but even if you are using pull start and crankcase outwears on CY or Zenoah engines there is still a gap between the engine and clutch housing. Sand, dust and grit can enter this gap and then go through your crankcase vents. The best thing to do with the gap is to stuff a big bit of airfilter foam down there. That will stop anything getting in
