After have a year long break from large scale rc I thought it was time to give it another go. Saw this mint dbxl which has only been ran for 1 tank of fuel, and I just had to have it.

I’m not new to the dbxl platform as Iv owned an mtxl, but I am aware they need a little upgrading to make them 5ive tough, this will be a project for me over the next few months so I’ll keep posting any updates.

Assuming you didn't pay too much it seems very clean. And yes the dbxl and mtxl share a lot of components.

It was an absolute steal tbh, I’m in the uk and paid £300, after giving it a good check over Iv noticed it’s practically new.

first proper run today, apart from a quick test run. Ended with loss of drive and after a quick look the front centre shaft has lost a pin and is just spinning.

2 FLM centre shafts ordered so hopefully that sorts it.

FLM shafts turned up today, but I’m struggling to get the rear diff cup off. Iv removed both grub screws but it doesn’t come off. Is there something I’m missing out?

No, it's just stuck on there. I had a little 2 jaw puller I would use to get them off. Worked good, but sucked since the diff had to be out to use it.
Edit: just seen in your second pic you got a bottle of red loctite. If any of that got on the shaft from the grub screws it would hold it fast like glue. Bit of heat will soften it up, but be careful not to hurt the bearing or case.

Got the front and rear FLM shafts on today, hopefully these hold up a little longer😂
