Yes that's great for someone who knows the engine well, but the guy is having problems!

I quoted the standard starting point for trouble shooting engine issues.
 
Did you try putting a few drops of oil down the spark plug hole? That'll bump up the compression temporarily. If it starts and runs for a moment and then dies, then you have a compression issue.

Where did you get the head kit? What brand?
 
Did you check to make sure your battery was charged? I know it seems stupid but if you have a dead battery and a fail safe like a killer bee it wouldn't start.

if that's not it take it to a small engine repair shop.
