New alloy shock review

Maybe you got 4 front sent to you...mine still haven't arrived, but Pete from pro 5th said the ones he's selling have only had 2 bad shocks in th 100 sets he's sold...so i hope that they're different shocks...to be safe though I'm going for the all alloy fg shocks and will probably ebay the others when they come...unless they're different to BTB's then i'll try em

I did not get the smaler shocks just 4 of the bigger. The bigger will not fit between the front arms on the buggies.

Again these seem to match in the photos but, I can not confirm they are the same shock. I have also been told that the seller has not had any problems in the 100's he's sold as per the 1st post.:)
 
mine still haven't arrived...maybe a blessing in disguise, the seller has agreed to either send more or give me a refund, I'll take my money and just send them back if they show up....my fg alloy ones should be here next week:cool2:
 
Well then. I purchased these schocks from ebay before i read this review. Big mistake.

The spring tensioner ring is missing, the cup for holding the spring is upside down, the hinge thats puts the shocks on the car is loose from its cup.
There is a ring to hold these in place but since it is loose it can drop from its socket. and furthermore, the ring to hold these are missing from one of the shocks.. You can see for yourself on the pictures.
big mistake purchasing these :(

oh and one last thing. I tried to move the shock up and down and i saw that the o-ring in the bottom was letting air in.. therefore all the bubbles in the shockoil.

Did you contact the seller? Have you left feedback? That is unacceptable if that is how you got them, with parts missing and not working...
Sorry that these are the same. I looked at them and thought hmm. longer shaft but same body? Maybe they did come upgrading.:(
 
Where did you guys buy these? Please post from who or a link. This crap shouldn't be sold at all. I can't believe this is still being sold!
 
I was lucky, i bought mine from a reputable seller and he refunded my money before I had even sent them back, I don't think they were aware of the poor quality at the time.
I ended up with $300 into alloy fg shocks with alloy pistons and o-rings, very pricey but they transformed the handling on my baja
 
the problem is that i have to send them back to him for a refund. given that i live in norway its kinda expensive to send these back.
but anyway. steer clear of these shocks. have bought Elcon shocks now that are far superior to these shocks.
The springs on these (the long version that is) fit over to stock FG shocks. so its not all bad ;)

:laugh: Sorry to laugh but that is exactly why I kept mine and agreed to tear them down and see if I could come up with some changes for the seller. Interesting they told me they would look into the changes and they never had any problems with the 100's they sold. I have not heard of one happy buyer yet?:glare: I see they must of taken the information and kept selling the same inferior product to unsuspecting buyers.:cursing:
