Newbie question

Hi all,

Are there any alternatives to the pullstarter for the HPI 5B. I am about to buy my third unit after the first 2 failed due to getting sand in the mechanism. I use the outerwearz cover but eventually sand finds its way in there. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I couldn't find any alternatives using the search feature. Thanks.

There is a cast pall, that will help out. Alot of us use graphite to lubricate them.

i heard theres a cast or maybe a Billet unit coming out.
any info on these yet?

i tried the graphite and it helped a bit, but the best thing is to keep it clean and as dry as possible. using the outerwares and screening the rear of the flywheel housing helps much. the metal starter pawl also helps alot.
