obr Losi motor

Obr has came out with there new Losi motor,which i have a hard time believing the hp there claiming,apparently its one of there fullmodds 30.5,no long rod just a 30.5 fullmod ,and there claiming it has 7.5hp,i am having a hard time believing this,they say its got alot more torque,but ussaully if you take the same motor and port it to make more torque you loosing rpms and a little hp,far as i know,and what i have been told.

you can obtain big hp numbers and maintain torque in a usable rpm range. the key is keeping a fairly low exhaust timing, no huge widening of the port and a considerably higher intake timing(again, no huge widening of the port) and some big eyebrows and what not. i believe they are close on those numbers. also depends what pipe they are testing with. one pipe can differ a lot from another. if the end user doesn't run the pipe they are geting those numbers with then the user may be disappointed. the pipe is huge factor in this.

Agreed! Sean @ OBR ports his 30.5's to rev pretty high. But give them a call or shoot them a email to ask what pipe they are using to achieve these numbers. There are only a few for the Losi. So it might be with there VRC propipe. Goodluck
