Hello Germs
, I'm not new to the RC scene, but it's been 1/10 Nitros always, so I'm a Newbie having to do with the 1/5 Scale stuff. I got a killer deal on a 100% complete and original HPI Baja 5T Truck from my neighbor who was leaving Cali for another State, so....
First, Thanks for allowing me to join!...
Second, I'm doing a complete restoration and upgrade on this original HPI Baja 5T and I'm considering a 34cc full mod, billet-cased, reed, 4-bolt motor with separate head from either OBR or AKill with a to-be-decided carburetor. It'll be used in the desert and sand dunes with a single-speed HD trans, 190x70 rears and 190x60 front tires I'm not rich by any means, but I'd like to get something nice..
a) Which company should be my choice?
b) What carbs WT-990 or WT-1107
c) Transmission what's a good brand?
Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated guys!
