Pinion Gears?

Hey guys I'm trying to change the 18 tooth pinion with a 16 tooth pinion but as you can see the 16 isn't as thick as the 18 and it leaves a big gap behind the pinion when installed,thus allowing the clutch bell to float in and out a considerable amount:nono: Are there spacers that go behind it?I bought the truck used with the 18/46 set up already on it.And I don't see any spacers on the FG parts pics either.:helpsmilie:

alli do is pack out the space with ordinary washers,youll probably get some from your local d.i.y store

Is it me or does that gear on the left look like belongs on the layshaft not the clutch bell?
