Good evening to all . I finally had time to run my ESP 340 motor . This is second run . I noticed the piston head has a reddish color and the piston is real dark . From the instructions if I’m correct . He said to use a spark plug that was used already for breaking it in . It’s even darker now . I running it on pump 93 gas , 25:1 mix , klotz oil and my 1107 carb is set to 2 1/8 on the high and 1 3/8 on the low . It’s smoking . I think it rich enough . Or should I go 20:1 ? Here’s some pics .

The piston is fine. Running 20:1 is even richer with oil. The first number is gas the 2nd number is oil, 25:1 is 25 parts fuel to 1 part oil. The higher the first number means less oil, the lower the first number means more oil or closer to a 1:1 ratio. If your good with your tuning you can run less oil like 32:1 and be ok but if your tuning isn't good you can fry your engine....

Klots is a castor oil which I've found to leave alot of carbon on the piston, switch to a synthetic 2 stroke oil if you plan to leave the engine at 25:1
