i think you are refering to a ground wire.


when applying the powder. you run a ground wire from the spray unit, to the piece, or a wire cage, where the pieces are wired to the cage, to coat multi pieces at the same time.

anyways, the grnd wire you attatch creates a circut when the power is being sprayed. the resulting static charge attracts the powder to the part, and helps the powder coat more evenly. it also helps the powder to "Stick" to the part from the static charge created.

earthing is a european term for using a ground wire i believe.
 
Will coating the head not impede its cooling ability and make the engine run a bit hotter? Just a thought :rolleyes:



No problem with heat transfer , becouse the thick of coating is only 0,03 - 0.05 mm and the powder is not insulating material .

All new air cool engines , bmw , harley.... have powder coating.
