pull starter?

hi everyone,
i bought a kyosho pure ten alpha this week and already things are going wrong, this is my 1st ever nitro car.
the problem with the car now is the pull start wont recoil its all the way out but still attached inside so i know it hasnt snapped.
could i fix this or will i have to buy a new 1?

it may have a broken spring. this is a gas forum u may have better luck over at rcnitrotalk.com
