Hi i am sorry that this is a stupid question but i fitted my gear cover to my fg baja yesterday and i am not sure if i am ment to cut the back of it out?It has lines where i think you mite be ment to cut it.So should i cut it?I am thinking that if i cut it,it will let stones out but if i do cut it,it will let them in:helpsmilie:.

Most of them come with the area you mention cut out because the ear arm will hit it and crack it or bust it up. Not sure what is best? I personally ran my models with them and upgraded to metal gears and removed the cover and don't use them anymore. The FG gear cover for the MT is the same and the FireHammer cover. The FGB must be different just in not removing the rear cut out?

I too don't use the cover anymore since I've upgraded to metal gears and with a Jetpro pipe on mine I won't have it fitted nicely anyway.

The fg cover I bought for the pinion and spur did not need to be cut, but it has a small area removed on the end near the rear suspension arm (for clearance). I was able to use the cover with the Jetpro pipe, but it did take a little work with figuring out which bolt to put in the exhaust first and how to tighten them evenly to align the pipe properly.

I used one about 4 years ago for 1 run. I think they are useless. Most racers don't even use them. A steel pinion and a plastic spur on a Aluminum gear carrier is all you need.
