The anti roll bar runs thru the arms by approx 20mm on mine so no danger of it coming out. Has it been cut down by its previous owner or did you by it new? Have you fitted the retaining screws & washers that hold it into the groove on the suspension mount? I haven't got any pics of mine to hand but post a pic of yours so we can see if there is anything obvious.

I've never known anyone use anti roll bars on any off road car with the possible exception of the mcd. I've raced Fg's for 10 years, MT's, marders, leopard race and now the new Leopard 2 and never had an anti roll bar on any of them as all they do is restrict the wishbone movement.

I was advised by Ross mods that the front anti-roll bar will tighten up the front end and reduce grip roll so I have only the front fitted to my 1st marder & it seems to work well enough. My 2nd marder came with a rear bar only so I have fitted it to try just out of curiosity more than anything. Its ok being told what is best but to experience the different characteristics 1st hand will be more beneficial to me. At the end of the day its a 2min job to take it off in the field if its a bag-o-shite!

Will post pics guys, the bar and the car are brand new, i have checked all the measurements in the book and everything seems to be correct, its as if i have made the turnbuckle adjustments and the arms are too far out from the diff. i must be missing something simple.

i have both front & rear on my leo and imo it handles better, my car used to roll quite easy when cornerin and wasn't stable when landin jumps, as andy says i was also advised by rossmod to fit them but mike is after all a racer so his cars are set up as they should be for the track ;)

There are 100's of things you need to do to some cars to stop them pitching, rolling bottoming out, or simply driving in a straight line. Set up/good maintenance is 90% and driver skill/style is 10% of having a car that behaves the way you want it too. An anti roll bar is not the be all and end all. Some shops will advise you have to buy things to cure a problem - Ask to see their race cars and see if they have them on.

If a car rolls when you give it a fist full of steering to get round the corner at the end of the straight.... If your car is set up ok and works well on the rest of the track then try batting towards the corner, chuck the anchors on few yards before, then roll round the corner before giving it a fist full when you're straighter.

At the end of the day I'm not for or against any car/spares manufacturer, shops or anyone else who may give advice. I have no problem with people putting what ever parts on the car they want to - it's their choice. When someone asks questions, I'll reply to them if I know the answer.

wasn't havin a dig mike, was just puttin the point across that you race so you know how the set up side works rather than just stickin hopups on mate :o

Different cars react differerntly, Mike1970 mentioned MCD and my V4 has none on now as I get more feel without them on than with them on.

Horses for courses mate, they are easy to fit and take off so give it a try with and without and see what you think.

In fairness to the boys at Rossmods, I went in for front and rear anti-roll bars and balloon springs all round to try to improve the handling / grip roll but they talked me out of buying the front balloon springs and rear anti-roll bar cos they were of no benefit in their opinion. They lost out on over £20 in sales by doing so but felt they were giving me the best advice and fair play for them doing so.

Different cars react differently is so true, For e.g there were 42 cars at Notts & Derby, each one different in one way or another in the set up, even if they were the same make.
The idea I go by when answering a lot of these posts is to give a base set up info then fine tune if required.

Hey Guys thanks for all the posts had another look at it last night and wouldnt you know it the arms are 7mm longer. Readjusted the rear and all good.

Just something stupidly simple that i overlooked.
