i really really want a redcat mt, i also have a thread about the hannibal too... sooo many people say to buy the baja but i just cant swing that much cash right now...wish i could but i just cant...i was just curious of the take off power of the redcat...i know it might sound stupid but thats one of my favorite things is the fast quick acceleration that rips up the grass maybe even a little lift up front...just wondering if the stock rampage is very quick on take off or not....(also why i considered the hannibal since its 30cc vs redcat 26cc)

first of all there's no 30cc, if its a true 30.5 then it will have a stroker crank in it, I don't know anyway that builds new kits with these in them except Rovan and maybe KM (not sure).

Power difference between two is minimal, a true 30.5 will have more bottom end grunt and more torque, the 26-29 rev better and generally have a bit more up top because of their availity to rev quicker than the stroker motors.

Have a good read around, most decent large scales will rip up the turf with absolute ease.

the cen came with a 30cc engine I just sold... the rampage is one of the heavier rc's out there, aside from their new xtb, so you have to consider that for acceleration. a 2wd is going to wheely easier than a 4wd just because less parts to lift.

you'll need more money than the purchase price to do the needed upgrades for much any rc out there in this scale, or you'll be disappointed early in your purchase.

do lots of reading. there is a lot of info on models that are popular and what has to be done to make them driveable. I've owned quite a few different brands and while I am a die hard fg guy, I have to say the Nutech has been one of the most dependable brands I have bought and huge aftermarket support. I use many Nutech parts on my FG's, so that makes finding parts easy... as far as the baja, there are decent clones out there... km has even just released a 4wd version, or there's the Kaylee 4wd (baja clone), but parts support should also be a big reason you buy something. Nothing worse than breaking something and not being able to get parts

i just went to www.nitrorcx.com and under the specs it shoes a 30cc motor so i really have no clue...just stating what i have read is all...i guess not to make myself sound stupid, but im quite nervous of what to buy...redcat rampage mt, baja 5t, nutech, or any "clone" or off brand model, the exceed hannibal, or cen matrix 5mt...everyone has their favorites and honestly i don't have the slightest clue what to do...i want deep down take off power mostly..to be able to rip up some grass on my take off and maybe powerslide a little..any help is more than appreciated i really cant thank you guys enough...i apologize for my lack of knowledge but i just have not been around 5th scale and i don't know anyone within 100 miles of me that even has ANY r/c car at all...even the cheap walmart poop nobody does this hobby so im lost without oyu guys... need any help possible!!! i want to buy one but no clue what to buy...

Like pipe said the stock 23cc - 30.5 motors don"t have a good take off till you put a good tuned pipe on them i have the redcat rampage MT with a 23cc motor and it was slow on the low end till i installed a tuned pipe on it and it was like night and day the 23cc came to life. Rob64 and myself have been racing for 2 years his truck has the big bore 28.5 with a jetpro pipe on a 60 foot drag race my 23 stays with it we also have the XT prototype truck it has a 30.5 stock and my 23 stays dead even with it with the Xcan pipe he has put on a prototype jetpro pipe on it now and it runs much better if you look in the redcat section i have put a video of the XT playing in the snow we have the gearing set high so the take off is a little slow on the pavement but it will fly on top end it is a blast in the snow with the 25 and 35 flipped around. i hope to get some more video today.
