Redcat receiver no good??

I received my new Rampage MT last week and thought I would try and get it going this weekend finally. First problem is that I have no indication that the receiver is getting power. I charged the battery and plugged it in to the switch wire and nothing. I plugged the battery directly into the receiver and nothing. This is all stock radio equipment. Is my receiver not working or I am missing something here? Thanks for any help,
