Reverse clutch?

I read that doing so improves clutch life and you get better grip. Any one tried it

It give better grip and life. But the clutch engages earlier to you need a high rpm spring to help with a high clutch engagement.

If you don't run a high RPM spring, it'll bog down the engine. Works better on ported engines.

I have the 8000 rpm on my mt. It seems to go pretty good I wish I had two trucks to see if it really improved.

You'll notice improved clutch life, since it doesn't slip as much.

I had heard about this before- is there any down side to this? Premature engine wear? Seems if it is so much better, then trucks would just come this way?

No premature engine wear. If you run this on a stock engine, without a high RPM spring it'll bog like hell. Other than that, there's no real down side.

Then I shall experiment as well, I have 7,5K springs in each of my trucks, so this should be fun...

It would be the best bet for running a reverse clutch. It will probably engage at 7000-7500.

Can be a lot harder on drive line parts as the clutch has little slip and harder engagement.
